began as a volunteer effort reaching out to seven children who all had mothers with mental illness. Today the organizations has grown into a nationally recognized non-profit providing intensive wraparound services to more than 1,500 children and parents in the greater Albuquerque area annually.

At the heart of PB&J Family services鈥� is a mission to help at-risk children grow and develop to their full potential in nurturing families within a supportive community. Fulfilling this purpose means the PB&J team鈥檚 support work touches a range of communities ranging from the pueblos, prisons, jails, and elementary/middle/high schools in Bernalillo and Sandoval counties. This mighty organization offers a variety of services while using laundry equipment that their team described as 鈥減rehistoric鈥�, making it challenging to effectively keep up with services amidst breakdowns and small washing load sizes. The organization鈥檚 philosophy focuses efforts on families as a unit, while also offering individualized services based on the rapidly changing needs within the local society. Community members who are in need find solace and essential support in PB&J鈥檚 services such as therapy and childcare.
